Nope, kind of wish I had gone for it rather than the 330d already starting to look to make the upgrade now...

What do you think the 335d xDrive will give you over the 330d?
No way I would do that swap.

Just get your 330d an engine remap then upgrade your gearbox software (assuming its auto) with xHp.

But doesn't handle as nicely and just feels duller to drive.
Save your money, wait for the new G21 and see what you think of those.
I was lent a 330i G20 and was really, really impressed with it. It was back to being a proper fun BMW, and didn't feel like many turbo petrols can, it was very linear.
I think diesel and all that torque is making cars boring. Great for the honeymoon period and then when the novelty wears off of the on/off throttle and having grunt at any rev range sinks I just start looking on autotrader again.
I took an E92 320i (N43 184hp) as a part ex on my car the other month, and have to say that was a real eye opener. It really didn't feel slow in the slightest, but you had to work it a bit, keep the revs between 3000-7000rpm and it gave you a sense of reward. That was the first time in years I jumped off the sofa at 10pm and went for a 2 hour drive for the sake of it.
That is missing from so many of todays cars, that is what a BMW should be like, it reminded me of my old E30 325i manual, and so did the 330i G20.
Adding more weight, taking away the wonderful RWD and trying to compensate with yet more power just doesn't work for me.
Mate of mine swapped his F31 320i for the 335d, the 320i was his first BMW, and he liked it so much he got carried away and swapped for the 335d. He said it was a silly move and admitted he preferred his 2013 320i Touring.
Just make sure you have one on a proper demo, that is all I am saying. You might just save yourself a few quid. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

I did that within the first few weeks always have done with every car lol, while it's pretty decent ( around 320bhp) I'm already wanting more and with more you would deffo need 4WD
At the same time I do Sheffield to Birmingham so still needs to return half decent mpg and be a decent ride

Yeah I've read you need to change the springs on them.
Some valid points but each has pros and cons for me personally, 320bhp and 500lbs of torque is great in the dry but any kind of non perfect surface or damp and beyond and its a little lively
The g20 looks lovely ( watched some nice reviews of it) but well out of my budget without finance or leasing etc

Be careful what you wish for ,the XDrive means you get standard not Sport suspension and they can be wallowy when pushed hard. They are blisteringly quick and pretty economical (38mpg) but they aren't perfect. TheBMW 3.0 diesel straight 6 is as good as it gets in diesel but the handling needs sorting as you don't want it wallowing at the speeds it can produce! Great Cars which eat most things on the road!

Ye I have read about the suspension, hence my above comments it does look like to get it something like then you need to change the springs etc.
I love the Engine / box combo in the 330d and since having it mapped it really does perform very well both pulling and mpg wise, I haven't been in a mapped 335d yet, but I can't imagine what they are like another 70bhp on top of mine as well as being able to get it down instantly must be huge smiles.
