I'm not bothered if it is a main road or not. As long as I don't need 4x4 to go through it and it is worth a go, I'll do it data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
The bit you mentioned about the cliff, the road and the wall, I cannot wait to see. I'll be ****ing myself probably data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
Same as Balach na Ba. I'll have to do it other way round and what if I cook my breaks data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
No worries mate, keep them coming data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
I wish I had a GoPro! I am still considering a cheapo dash cam though. If I have some spare money (doubtful) I'll buy this (I won't be able to afford GoPro anytime soon... unless I get that transfer and payrise, promised to me months ago)

You got a smart phone? I paid £1.99 for iSymDVR for my iPhone. It adds map overlays using GPS, records video, altitude, speed, date, time, etc
I wanted a Roadhawk HD, but couldn't stomach paying the £300 they wanted! Its a nice bit of kit, but its an expensive option for me at the moment. Maybe for my next roadtrip in May, depends if any other surprise expenses crop up!

I'm reluctant to post too many images in case the place gets too popular but this is a nice one of the waterfall 99 people out of 100 miss.

I do have a smart phone, but it's Android phone (SGS2). I just checked no such thing as iSymDVR. Though I do use Google GPS/Maps quite often and find it great. I don't think it can record a video though.
There are probably apps that can record videos of me driving, but I'd rather keep the phone charged up for any emergencies. Besides the car charger they provide with my phone is rubbish anyway. When connected to the socket and displaying maps/GPS, the battery level still goes down (even though it is charging), so I usually relay on the conventional paper map and only use GPS in urban areas or for a short time.

Great photo! Long lens. I have a 70-200, which I could use for similar thingsbut I reckon if I can get close the wide angle lens on a tripod can be even more spectacular data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
I'll look into this. Please post more data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Day 1
Left the house at just after 4am data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
Just waiting to checkin and board the 6:48 train. Then got another 415 miles from Calais to our location, Lac Chalin.
Got here at 4pm local time, looks like there will be some decent mountain roads to hammer. Did home to campsite (515 miles) on one tank of diesel data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Just filled the tank again ready for tomorrow, little roadtrip to Geneva data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 planned for tomorrow. Planning on taking a cable car somewhere just west of the city.
Had to stop about 5 miles from the campsite as the road was full of cows!
Cows?

Day 2
Left the campsite at 10am, and headed for Crozet near Geneva, about 55 miles away. This involved driving through the Jura National Park and going over Mount Jura. While the altitude wasn't as high as other parts of the Alps, at only 1300m, it was still a stunning view.

Some c**k in an Audi nearly took me off the road trying to overtake me AND the car in front, when another car came
in the other direction! Arsehole. When the traffic was light, managed to put my foot down a little, and thrashed it
round some hairpins and sweeping curves.

Day 3
Started off just relaxing while the little 'un went to "Fun Station" for the morning. After food we headed down to Cascades du Herisson, a place with 31 waterfalls. Walked solid for 4.5 hours, went under a waterfall and got soaked by the freezing water. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 it was cold!
