Costco tyres

Hi, just had 2 Michelin pilotsport 4 fitted on my vw golf gt 170
Under Costco’s policy they will only fit them on the rear
With it been a front wheel drive I thought about getting them swapped over to the front, any thoughts guys?

Very odd policy. Can’t see any logic for it.

Been covered very recently New tyres - Fitter has 'Interesting' Theory

Short answer is: Costco are correct and following best practice in fitting the tyres to the rear.

Cheers that thread covered it
I’ll leave as it is

What is the tread like on the front?
The front will wear quicker, so once they get to 3mm, I would swap the newer rears to the front.

Good at the minute but yes that an idea

Surely the best advice is to always have good tyres on all wheels, the right tyres for the conditions / time of year.
I am about to replace the rear tyres on the NSX as they have worn much more than the fronts, and as they are different diameters, widths and aspect ratios obviously can't rotate them.
I might replace all four, as the fronts are starting to get old, even though they have plenty of tread depth remaining - i'll seek advice from professionals as to whether this is required or not.

Of course it is, my worn tyres are nearly new anyway

Costco do it right, best tyres go where you have least amount of control.

Costco Watford used to have a repeating video showing the effects on a waterlogged surface.
They obviously get this a lot!
