How far have you driven once your car says 0 miles
Now i dont normally do this but I've had a hectic couple of weeks, i normally fill up when my car hits around a quarter of a tank, i knew my car had 25 miles left on the range which was easily enough to get me to the tesco to fill up on momentum 99 ron on my first day back at work for 3 weeks this morning. Ive been driving the missus car while i have been off.Leave home at 4:45am and get to tesco around 5am, the lorry is there filling the pumps and it's closed all the pumps, so i cant fuel up, i get to work 16 miles from my house with 10 miles left showing. There is a petrol station not far from work but it doesnt sell higher ron stuff my 5.2 litre v10 needs!
So i decided to stupidly risk the trip back to tesco, my car being a thirsty bugger instantly drops to 5 mile range as soon as i start it up, and when it dropped to 0 miles i still had 7.3 miles until i got to tesco!
I pre warned the missus i may need saving and i was a bit nervous but luckily made it with no issues, how many miles have you done once your car shows 0 miles? 20 miles but I know when it hits 0 there is still 10litres in the tank. Exactly this, there’s a reserve of ca 10l Are you driving an Audi R8 or Mercedes E63? I play this game every tank. I usually do another 10-15 miles before refilling but have managed 35ish on one occasion, albeit with an arse like a rabbits nose. S6 i reckon. Its an audi s8 https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/joypixels/[email protected]/png/64/1f44d-1f3fb.png I would love to test it out, 10 litres would get me about 30-35 miles i reckon as i average 20mpg when i drive conservatively.
If that's the case i don't know why i was worrying doing 7 miles, i should have drove home and filled up tomorrow https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/joypixels/[email protected]/png/64/1f602.png Ooooof! I’m no expert but I’m sure I read that running it ‘dry’ isn’t good for the engine has it pulls loads of sh*t that sits at the bottom of the tank (this may be a complete fallacy)
