Well, look at the temperture reading on your dash, make sure it gets to 90ºc and stays there. Haha
That would be my first port of call.
I would do that now anyway. 90ºc after no more than 10 miles and then sit there rock solid, in traffic, up hills, hooning it etc. etc.

I missed this one amongst the other items.Yes it goes to 90 degrees fast and stays there dead on.Always has before, during and since the problem.

Our local guy is good, and also happens to own a van the same as ours.He has got us through a lot of issues/codes over the years.

My Skoda has done 163K and is still, as far as I can tell, on it's original DPF.Probably helped by the original owner averaging 23K a year data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7It also has a DPF warning light which, if I read the manual right, means: please take me on a long run (in Sports mode? data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7) to regenerate.

Ours has that also 'DPF - READ MANUAL!' or something.I suspect part of our issue is it is our only car and taking four children on half a dozen local activity drops every week can't be good for something that needs decent runs.

DPFs have a limited life span. They will fill with ash and soot eventually. I got 162k miles out of mine before it needed a clean. I do regular long journeys on the motorway and this no doubt extended its life, but it won’t last forever.

This I gather is being extended to other vehicles apparently. Its under consumer law as not fit for purpose. Expensive SUVs so far.....
