Fun for young and old!
She-Ra and the princesses of Power is one of those great cartoons for both children and their parents, especially if the parents were fans of the 1980s show. There are plenty of throwbacks and easter eggs for those people while the show stands strongly on it's own but at the same time it respects the source material enough without being a pure remake. The humour in the show works on different levels and the show does a good job at setting the mood, but doesn't shy away from getting a bit deeper at times - which never feels forced. The first 6 or so episodes serve a bit as an introduction to all the Princesses but the season and story really picks up after that. Dreamworks have done an excellent job at setting the stage for s2. Hopefully the excellent story development from the second half of s1 will carry over in to s2.
One more thing, the voice acting is fantastic. Catra, Adora, Glimmer, Bow Shadoweaver, Hordak are all voiced excellently, but then there is Mermista... absolutely briliant and great fun!
If you're a MOTU or She-Ra fan, give this show a chance but go in to it not expecting it to be what the old show was, I'd argue it's superior but nostalgia may convince you otherwise.
