Cheltenham Races
March every year. This is the place to put your winners, losers and fancies........ I was reading a few months back about 2 Mullins horses called Melon and Might Bite and how they were the next big things from him.
At the time they were 14/1 and 20/1 respectively prior to a run, as you can imagine they are now down as low as 4/1 and ones a favourite. I think might bite is running today at Doncaster odds of 1/8.
Melon looked good as its first debut race but we all know Cheltenham is a different story.
One horse in which won't be going Cheltenham is Faugheen which is a real shame, I don't think we'll see it run again given its recent injuries. Rich Ricci has had a terrible run of luck with his horses over the last 6 months with Faugheen, Min, Annie Power and, of course, Vautour all missing the festival for one reason or another. @JFRTDI I had might bite on my watchlist last year but unfortunately didn't run at the festival (although ran the day after on Saturday and won data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7) Will be likely be my pick for the RSA if it ends up running.
Been hearing strong word for Brain Power (Champion Hurdle) but really fancy Yorkhill if supplemented
One to keep on eye on is Champers On Ice, been playing the handicap game recently I almost threw some money last night on Champers on Ice. 8/1 to win a race at the festival. I'd imagine plenty of ante post bets are not dead and buried with thistlecrack being pulled out due to injury. I know I had a couple which is a bit gutting given the prices, especially 40/1 for the King George/GOLD Cup double. Wish I'd backed Native or Cue Cardweeks ago now I wish I stuck some coin on this. No idea why I didn't if I went to the effort or requesting it. What a numpty. https://www.avforums.com/attachments/screenshot_20170224-120309-png.829657/ Had a free £5 bet expiring so have done
Might Bite/Un De Sceaux/Unowhatimeanharry treble
returns £175
Tempted to bet on some of the handicaps now but most bookies will be top 5 on the day so might hold off Free £10 bet
Vroum Vroum Mag (mares hurdle) and Death Duty (Albert Bartlett) double 6.7/1
