The Ashes. 1st Test
THE ASHESFirst Test: Edgbaston - Australia won the toss and elected to bat
I'm with Joe, I'm happy bowling first. Anderson and Broad might benefit from the cloud cover and it takes me coming back in an hour to find England at 66/4 out of the equation! Great first over. Jimmy right on the money. Third ball turned Bancroft inside out. Wow, Bairstow had a point, definite nick on ultra edge -
Warner could have been out first ball. //static.avforums.com/styles/avf/smilies/facepalm.gif Just got back. Missed all the drama. Aussies three down for not many. Rock on! Now sponsored by San Miguel I should be able to see the rest of the day's play. Lunch will be an oak smoked salmon salad followed by strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and double cream. What will the cricketers have? Maybe some Coronation chicken?
Troublesome calf for Anderson. Broad has been very good. Things are coming to a Head if we don't get another one soon. Thing is, I'm seeing Head and Wade in an Australian test team and it leaves me thinking... really? Is that the best you can do? Possible wicket here, LBW with original decision OUT - honestly that looks out all day long.
And it IS out - desperate review that one. Head is a goner, 4 for 99 Australia. Paine GONE!!! Holed out to Burns after a bit of a drag-down from Broad. Australia six down! And there goes another one. Pattinson goes LBW though I would like to see that again, looked like it might have been going down leg side a bit... 7/112 Australia. Another one padding up. Cummons this time. The in-swinger, didn't pick it... GONE!!!
AUSTRALIA 8/122. Great performance with the ball by England. This is great bowling by England, although Smith and Siddle are fighting a bit of a rearguard action.I'm not getting too carried away though as England have yet to bat data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
