The Ashes - 2nd Test
Day 1 looking like a washout data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Have a sneaky feeling the weather will decide this one. Not looking too good for Friday either apparently. Off to a flier on day 2 data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Yup.Rain soon gonna wipe out the rest of the day leaving 2 days.
Still more than likely get a result since England can't bat for more than a day. Great wicket 138-5 looking good so far 6 down now, this could be close!! Lights done them in here. Archer bowled his last now due to poor light. Down to the spinners now. Smith out of the 3rd test with concussion, so we've got to take advantage and level it up here.
I hadn't realised cricket didn't apply the standard concussion rules. Seems ludicrous considering we're basically dealing with a rock hard ball being thrown toward someone!
Hopefully they get that sorted now for the future. Smith being out of the 3rd Test with concussion is great news for England. However, I'd love to be able to say we beat them with him in the side.England must take advantage of him being out to level the series.
I was more than surprised to see Smith come back out. Having re-watched the highlights of him complete his innings, he didn't look the same batsman he had been before he retired hurt. It's shocking he was allowed back out really. If something serious had have happened or he'd gotten hit again, there could have been very serious consequences. Most notably for him, but also for the game.
I hope the pressure is applied for them to address this immediately.
