Above average ghost hunter movie.
I'm sure I'm not alone in this but I'll say it anyway this sub genre( if that's a real thing) of horror is completely played out as is the nonsense laden "reality" ghost hunter shows. I would love ghosts to be real and deep inside I actually hope they are because it's life's greatest unanswered question (at least to me) and it would bring comfort and piece of mind to everyone. My biggest gripe about this in real life and how it's addressed In movies is that the supposed tools used to detect ghosts were all created for use other than what they were designed for like voltage meters used by electricians confirms a ghostly presence. Even though those dubious tools are used it's not in the same way as those reality shows. This is a good story acted by talented people and clearly under a director that has a grasp on how to do tension with out jump scares and louder than necessary sound effects which I think makes for an overall creepy experience. On occasion you will have a jump scare and the volume will be slightly louder at point but it isn't used as a crutch. It's entertaining, more creepy than scary with believable characters.score 7/10
