A Breath of Fresh Air for Journalism
Oliver Stone's documentary breathes a breath of fresh air on the coverage of the tragic events that befell Ukraine during the last few years and which dramatically changed the lives of all Ukrainians.Ukraine on Fire bravely exposes facts, which have been consistently and diligently ignored by mainstream Western media in their coverage of Ukraine and which Ukrainian nationalists had hoped to hide. The documentary presents a complete picture of how events unfolded. The producers of this documentary interviewed and for the first time gained insight from those people who were at the very centre of the action in those days, including Viktor Yanukovych and Vladimir Putin.
This documentary is truly eye opening and will elicit an emotional response from every viewer, especially those with a pre-conceived opinion on this topic. This could have been remedied had members of the current Ukrainian government provided their input into the film, but unfortunately they all point blank refused the producers invitation - it is not difficult to see why, as they would have had to answer some very uncomfortable questions...
