10 out of 10 for courage
By the time the 2014Ukraine chaos will be finally uncontroversial, we'll all be dead. The truth is so easily manipulated these days that even those who are part of the events don't know what it really is. For the rest of us it is simply unreasonable to expect to get a full, unbiased picture of any major conflict. Just remember the 2008 South Ossetia conflict and all the lies that came with it. I think that in this climate, Oliver Stone's approach is the only right one. As he has plainly stated before, he believes that we've been lied to about our history, our policies, their background and their consequences, for a long time. He does not like that, and has grown to question everything he sees and hears. Ukraine on Fire has to be viewed in this perspective, as the "really?" question to all the "facts" we are being fed. I like the courage with which this decorated film maker has decided to use his hard-won fame and standing in the media to push the search for facts and for our right to simply make our own opinion in the face of the massive propaganda machine that controls most of the information we consume every day. He certainly does not give in to peer pressure, and that gets him 10/10 for courage.score 10/10
