it's bit of a one-joke film, really
It was a huge hit here (France) and I have a feeling it was due to the fact that it was released during one of the rainiest summers in years. In fact it's one of those films that people who should know better go and see and then tell you "it's a lot better than I was expecting it to be" - but it's not.I also felt like I'd seen all the 'best' parts of the film already thanks to the hype on TV.
The actors are actually OK, though definitely under-used, and once you get past the Joke - the guy from the south not understanding the northern dialect - the rest of the film is very thin on the ground.
It's the sort of film you'd watch on holiday if it's too rainy to go to the beach.
