Curious reboot to the Stabler Character for Law & Order Organized Crime
The Stabler character is reintroduced after a family tragedy..At this point, he finds a reason to attach himself to a NYPD organized crime task force working against Mob operations.
The full task force that Stabler will be on will likely evolve in the near future.
This is a different setting than the SVU team he was the unofficial leader of for many years. Certainly, his reputation as a hotheaded maverick works against him in select encounters. Stabler is forced to balance his zeal for vigorous pursuit of justice with the contemporary realities for increased scrutiny on police departments in the aftermath of the real-life 2020 (and, apparently, the in-canon 2020 for the Law & Order universe). Stabler has a new, no nonsense boss, though it looks like their relationship will evolve-- though likely not like it evolved with Liv from the SVU squad.
