Hits all the right notes, with even higher quality production than the originals.
As a lifelong Ducks fan, my anticipation and expectations for this show were very high. I'm extremely pleased to say that it's met and surpassed those expectations. The casting is amazing - Lauren Graham is her usual brilliant self, the returning characters are well-written with intriguing new twists that have us questioning what happened during the 25 year time off screen, and the script is logical, witty, and captures the true heart of what a Mighty Ducks production should be. I may have even cried a little at one moment during the playing of the original Ducks fanfare, but that's purely my own nostalgia triggering that, which I can happily admit.
After learning that the original Mighty Ducks writer Steve Brill is producing, this is less of a surprise - it really feels like coming home. Any fans of the original owe it to themselves to check this show out, and here's hoping it's around for some time.
