Ufotable's best work to date

This movie has something that Unlimited Blade Works unfortunately lacked which is to be a complete adaptation of the original material (not saying that UBW series was bad, it was still great but it could have been so much better). With Heaven's Feel, it seems like Ufotable finally learnt it's lesson, and the result, was an absolutely breathtaking movie...

In both Heaven's Feel movies we have seen the best adaptation of the Emiya Shirou character, a man who takes the extreme decision to throw away the ideals that had ruled his entire life and all for the woman he loves, but of course, in typical Emiya fashion this is not just a decision driven by just pure love, Shirou's past trauma is still inside him and what happened is that he simply remplaces his ideal of "becoming a superhero" with the objective of "protecting Sakura no matter what". Still, his old ideals have not completely leave him and I love how the movie shows us his inner conflict. That was brilliant.

This movie also gives us a perfect adaptation of the Matou Sakura character and her brutal descent into madness, which is the 100% logical result after all pain and suffering she had to endure. There are two specific scenes in this movie that are not only brilliant in the representation of Sakura's downfall but also are simple terrifying, it make my blood cold realizing just how twisted she has become.

Also, if you think Ufotable's animation and art work couldn't get any better, well... that fight...THAT FREAKING FIGHT between Saber and Berserk.... oh man... is going to take years for any other anime studio to be able to top this, only Ufotable itself will be able to top that scene in the last movie.

The soundtrack by Yuki Kajiura, as always, was fantastic.

Overall, before Lost Butterfly, Kara no Kyoukai part 5 was the best work of Ufotable. But Lost Butterfly has overthrown it, and is now (at least until the next movie comes out) the best work by this anime studio.

score 10/10
