Not exactly Best Picture, but sweet & cute.
So, is this movie going to win Best Picture? No.Another one not to be judged by Western standards: pacing is kinda slow and clumsy, writing (translations?) a bit forced at times and acting isn't exactly in Meryl Streep territory.
But the leads are sweet, have good chemistry and the point of the movie is a positive one. If it makes some gay 16-year-old South Korean kid feel good about themselves, then mission accomplished.
And if the Hallmark Channel can crank out schlocky pieces of fluff by the dozen, then the producers of this are certainly allowed to make something that's a lot better by comparison.
