Excuse me, Princess!
MARIO!?A TELEVISION SHOW?!?That was pretty much my reaction as a kid when I found out there would be a TV show about the Mario Brothers. Not only did you get those life action sequences with Captain Lou Albano and Danny Wells, but you also got CARTOONS!Mario and Luigi running around fighting King Koopa. All the voices in the show were cast perfectly. I tried to watch the cartoons again and realized that they're all pretty similar but back in the day, it was classic. When the show first ran, in each episode they would have little scenes where they'd play songs like "Limbo Rock" and "Whatsamatta You" where Mario and Luigi would fight goombas and such. I saw the cartoons recently, and those songs were not there anymore.Very strange. And of course, you had that great closing theme "Do The Mario" with Captain Lou dancing all over the screen. However, the BEST part about the show had to be Zelda cartoons every friday. Not only did you get Mario, but Link too? That was amazing! He was such a smart alec to Princess Zelda.Ganon was awesome too.I loved the music that would play whenever Link would go into battle. "One more shot and you're deengergized, Ganon!" They also used all the same sound effects and theme from the game which was perfect.
Great show during the 80's. At least this was more closely related to the game, unlike that horrible movie.
