Thoroughly enjoyed it.
This is a really good series, the fact that it was transmitted on weekday afternoons on BBC1 made me think we were in for a drama along the lines of Father Brown or Shakespeare and Hathaway, good, but light. In fact it's actually a really gritty series, much better suited to a night time slot.Broken down into individual episodes with a story arc running through it.
We have some conflict among the main characters, all is not rosey in the garden as is so often the case. The needle between Small and Speer's characters was great, I particularly liked the story of his wife.
It delivers twists and turns, and some real moments of drama.
Keep it going. 8/10.
