Wanted to kill myself before the opening titles.
Every once-in-a-while, I'll watch one of my sister's shows she likes, just to see how long I can make before I lose faith in humanity. I guess I enjoy hating them, or get enjoyment out of how bad they are, something like that. I think I started doing it because I saw my sister watching them, and couldn't understand why she liked them. Shows like Liv and Maddie, I didn't do it, and other stuff like that on Disney channel, and shows like Sam and Cat, The Thundermans, Haunted Hathaways or something, and other stuff like that on Nickelodeon. I'd watch them and just laugh at how bad they were, and over time I started enjoying watching them because of how bad they were. I'd watch Liv and Maddie and think "This is so stupid, how does my sister actually enjoy this stuff". And sometimes, I'd delete the episode of the show after I watched it, because I simply couldn't allow my sister to watch it. I'm 16, and my sister's 13, and please don't misunderstand what I'm saying, I despise these shows, but I like hating them, they're right on the verge of being so bad they're good, not as much as something like Birdemic, or The Room, but still pretty bad.So one day I see this show, "Make It Pop", in our DVR, I look at the description and think "Oh, another one of my sister's shows. Okay, time to see how bad it is". I turn the show one, and within the first, probably, 15 seconds, I hated it. More than the other shows, I hated it with a passion. The "jokes", oh my gosh, I heard funnier things in the rejected jokes list for Disney's "Jessie". The acting, wow, the actors in The Room deserved a million Oscars for best actor compared to this. The "characters" were stereotypes beyond belief I don't even want to get into that. The weird setting and plot didn't make any sense. I enjoy hating Shake It Up, but this, like I said in the title, wanted to kill myself before the opening titles. Well, not quite, the titles are what pushed me over to that. They're opening titles, how do you mess them up so bad? HOW? Some terrible singers singing "make it pop" over and over again to the most generic beat you ever heard, and they just keep repeating it throughout the titles. Once again, we have a Nickelodeon show about "singers" "trying to make it". Wow, that's the most original plot since Fast and Furious 7. I hate the other Nick and Disney shows, but this is far worse than all of those combined. I honestly think that this show is making kids dumber. Watch Liv and Maddie all you want, it's stupid, but it's not gonna do much to you. But Make It Pop will actively lower your kids' IQ. That's not exaggerating, or trying to emphasize my point, that is my honest genuine thoughts on it. I beg of you, do not show your kids this garbage, no, not garbage, garbage's garbage's garbage.
Like, a day after watching this, my sister started wearing her hair like the Korean girl on the show, she downloaded the "soundtrack" to the show, she started singing and memorizing the "songs". Hey, I'm all for dressing up like people on your favorite show, every now and then, I'll put on a suit and pretend my pen's a sonic screwdriver. But this show is obsessive, like a real life version of chinpokomon, but a million times worse. If you have any respect for you kids, and the future of humanity, don't let them watch even a second of this show. Pease, I beg of you.
